Efectividad del insecticida benzoato de amamectina para el control de Keiferia lycopersicella (walsingham) en cultivo protegido de tomate

Abstract
Tomato crop is attached by several insect pests that affect plants productivity or harvest quality. Among them pinworm Keiferia lycopersicella (Walsingham) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is a very important pest because larval states perforate leaves to feed. In order to probe the efficacy of insecticide amamectine benzoate 0,19 EC to control the pest, two experiments were developed in controlled conditions of type 1 tunnel model green houses. Tomato hybrids 3054 and 3019 were sowed in Red Ferralitic soil at a distance of 1.20 x 0.40 m, with tutors, in parcels of 320 m2 and 2400 m2 respectively in the Agricultural Production Cooperatives Niceto Pérez in Güira de Melena and in Antero Regalado in San Antonio de los Baños, from Havana province. The low average of larvas per plant in both production centres demonstrated the smaller infestation index presented when it was used the insecticide amamectine benzoate at 0.4 L/ha cp, compared with abamectina 1.8 EC at 1 L/ha cp, alone or mixed with dimetoate 40 EC at 1 L/ha cp, used as production standard. Effectiveness reached values between 93 and 100% up to 11 days after the treatment, with greater mortality of the larvas in the variant applied with amamectina benzoate than the treatment with abamectina.
