The Fitosanidad journal is a serial, open-access scientific publication aimed at researchers, professors, students, and technicians worldwide who are interested in plant protection and phytosanitary sciences. Its mission is to promote the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge that contributes to the prevention, diagnosis, management, and sustainable control of plant diseases, pests, and weeds affecting agricultural and natural ecosystems, fostering practices that ensure productivity and food security. The journal’s scope covers basic and applied research in entomology, mycology, virology, bacteriology, plant pathology, weed science, taxonomy, pest biology, diagnostic methods, new pest reports, crop protection, chemical and biological control, propagation technologies of beneficial species, antagonists and metabolites with biological activity, plant quarantine, pathogen–host interactions and genetic resistance, cultural practices, chemical efficacy, environmental impact and pesticide residues, ecology, epidemiology, pest forecasting and management, and molecular biology, as well as related topics associated with plant health. It targets a specialized audience from the academic, research, and technical communities committed to advancing knowledge and innovation in phytosanitary management. The journal publishes original and unpublished manuscripts in Spanish and English that are not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere.
