History
Fitosanidad is a Cuban scientific publication certified by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA). It is a continuation of Plant Protection, which was published under the name Science and Technology in Agriculture: Plant Protection until 1992. In 1999, the journal Fitosanidad was created, published by the Plant Health Research Institute. Over the years, it has achieved significant recognition, including inclusion in databases such as SciELO and Redalyc, to name a few.
It presents e-ISSN: 1818-1686 | p-ISSN: 1562-3009 and e-RNPS: 2109 | p-RNPS: 0378. It is composed of an annual volume under the continuous publication system (January-December) to increase the immediacy of its publications. Since its foundation, it became a competitive publication in the area of plant health. It publishes original and unpublished research in Spanish and English, becoming original articles, short communications and review articles, in the specialties of entomology, mycology, virology, bacteriology, phytopathology, weeds, taxonomy, pest biology, diagnostic methods, new pest reports, crop protection; chemical and biological control, reproduction technologies of beneficial species, antagonists and metabolites with biological activity; in the fields of plant quarantine; pathogen-host interaction and genetic resistance; cultural practices. Chemical efficacy, environmental impact and pesticide residues, ecology, epidemiology and pest forecasting, pesticide application methods and media, pest management, and molecular biology.
All submitted documents undergo a double-blind peer-review process and use Open Journal Systems to manage its online content. This journal provides free, open, and immediate access to its content to foster greater global knowledge sharing. It does not impose embargo periods or charge any fees associated with the peer-review, processing, or publication of documents. Authors who publish in this journal agree to the terms of the CC Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) , under which all content will be disseminated.
