Ciclo biológico de Rhyzopertha dominica (f.) en semillas de arroz sometidas a cuatro temperaturas
Main Article Content
Abstract
The biological cycle of Rhyzopertha dominica (F.) was studied using adults insets reared at laboratories conditions (28 ± 2,7oC y 78-85% RH) There were used newly hatched larvae (1-2 days old) which were join together, one by one, with each whole rice seed where, previously, was made an small longitudinal scalpel cut on the pericarp at contrary side of the seed embryo in J-104 variety. There were carried out 15 biological cycle trails at temperatures 22, 25, 30 and 33oC. Observations of morphological and morphometrics figures were done at intervals of three and seven days. It was determined that specie had three or four instars in spice of temperature, every one take place inside the rice seed, and the first one was the most important instar because it showed higher mobility and voracity in order to look and find abnormalities rice seeds and create new infestations spots.
