Efecto de quizalofop-p etilo sobre Beauveria bassiana (bals.) Vuill. y Lecanicillium (verticillium) lecanii (zimm.) Zare & gams) in vitro

Abstract
The effect of the post emergent herbicide quizalofop-p ethyl was studied in vitro on two entomopathogens fungi Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. and Lecanicillium (Verticillium) lecanii (Zimm Zare & Gams) strain Y-57, used in potato for the control of Thrips palmi Karny. Assays were carried out with herbicide concentrations of 10, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg/L. The growth inhibition of fungus colony, the effect on spore production capacity and conidia germination were evaluated. Quizalofop-p ethyl lightly inhibited the growth of both fungi in study analyzed with OILB scale; nevertheless DL-50 and DL-95 were very lower for B. bassiana than L. lecanii. The herbicide classified as compatible for L. lecanii and very toxic for B. bassiana according to T value. Conidia germination of L. lecanii was 100% inhibited since concentrations of 10 mg/L and from 500 mg/L for B. bassiana. These results should keep in mind when using Beauveria bassiana or Lecanicillium lecanii in potato crop if quizalofop-p ethyl treatments are programmed.
