Inventario de los ácaros en la provincia de Holguín
Main Article Content
Abstract
A considerable number of mite species have been found on crops in Holguín province, some of them acting as important parasites. To achieve a better knowledge about localization and distribution, a detailed catalogue summarizing both locations and main hosts for each species was elaborated by taking the information recorded between 1981 and 2006. As a result 33 species, enclosed into seven families and 19 genera were determined. Families Acaridae and Eriophyidae presented seven species, Tetranychidae with 11, Tarsonemidae three, Tenuipalpidae three, Cheyletidae one and Tuckerellidae one species. Cheletogenes ornatus (Can. y Fanz.) was a new report for the province. The species having more host were Polyphagotarsonemus latus Beer and Nucifora, Tetranychus tumidus Banks and Rhizoglyphus sp. with 12, 12 and eight, respectively. Crops which more mite species were garlic (Allium sativum L.) and onion (Allium cepa L.).
