Pasado, presente y futuro del control biológico en Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
The development of biological pest control in Cuba, since its inception in the early decades of the last century is described, the introduction of natural enemies, as well as the evaluation of a group of technologies for reproducing entomopathogenic fungi and massive :breeding of entomophagous, initially based on handicraft procedures, which allowed the development of products from different microorganisms and some small amounts of entomphatogen nematodes. These results established the basis for the creation of a network of biolaboratories or Entomophagous and Entomophatogens Reproduction Centers (CREE). A group of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs are implemented in the country in which biological control has a major participation.
