Actualización del inventario de insectos y microorganismos nocivos a las especies forestales en Cuba

Abstract
It is presented an updated information on the principal insects and microorganisms that influence on different hosts in nurseries, natural areas and forest plantations, native and introduced, in Cuba during the period 1997-2001. Besides it is reported the main species taking into account the intensity and spread of damages at the three main geographic areas in the country. From a total of 218 insect species, 50 genera of fungi and 2 bacteria, only 9 insect species (Dioryctria horneana, Hysipyla grandella, Ips grandicollis, Ips calligraphus, Pachnaeus litus, Atta insularis, Spodoptera sunia, Anomis illita y Neotermes castaneus) and 5 diseases (pine vascular mycosis, eucalyptus gangrene, mahogany gangrene, fusariosis and galls in khayas) were more interesting from a phytosanitary point of view in the analyzed period.
