Malacofauna en agroecosistemas representativos de las provincias occidentales de Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
Molluscs are the biggest group of invertebrates after arthropod and they constitute a permanent problem at worldwide agriculture; nevertheless, it is an underestimated matter yet. This study was realized with the purpose to identify mollusc species associated to representative agroecosystems at Cuban occidental provinces. Recollects were carried out from 2005 to 2010 in Pinar del Río, La Habana, Artemisa, Mayabeque and Matanzas provinces; it was chosen randomly parcels of 1 m2 and species richness was determined. Taxonomic keys were used for specimen identification and comparisons with malacological collection at Ecology and Systematic Institute were made. A total of 11 families, 14 genera and 15 species are informed, nine phytophagous habit and six non-phytophagous. The most recurrent species were Praticolella griseola (Pfeiffer), Bradybaena similaris (Férrusac) and Subulina octona (Bruguiére). This study constitutes the first malacological inventory in Cuban agroecosystems.
